Linocut Workshop

Linocut Workshop is a four-hour hands-on printmaking class at Rhizome DC. Participants will learn how to transfer an image onto a block, carve it, apply ink, and make prints. Each student will create a 4-by-6-inch postcard-sized block and leave with the finished block, several impressions, and an instructional zine about linocut printing.

The workshop also includes a comparison of soft rubber blocks with battleship-gray linoleum supplied by the instructor. If time permits, participants can practice printing with a simple roller-style press.
