WEIRD NIGHTMARE

Weird Nightmare is the solo project of METZ singer/guitarist Alex Edkins, whose second album *Hoopla* bursts with catchy, melodic indie rock and power pop. Co-produced with Spoon’s Jim Eno and recorded at Seth Manchester’s Machines with Magnets, the album expands Edkins’ sonic palette with piano, bells, castanets, and crisp fuzz-and-crunch guitar pop. The rhythm section features Loel Campbell on drums and Roddy Kuester on bass. Described as top-shelf power pop that could sit between The Replacements and Elvis Costello or alongside Sharp Pins and Alvvays, *Hoopla* is an optimistic, widescreen pop statement. Support comes from Personal Injury, a DC basement rock band composed of John, Elliott, Isaiah, and Theo.
