Grief Group

Wed, Aug 19, 2026at 6:30 PM
Sedgwick Street Northwest, Washington, DC
Free

Grief Group is a free, monthly peer support gathering at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, designed specifically for people in their 20s and 30s who have lost a loved one. The event creates a welcoming, understanding space where participants can talk openly about grief and the many forms it takes, with others who genuinely “get it” because they have experienced loss themselves. Acknowledging that grief can be painfully isolating, the group aims to help community members process their feelings together rather than in silence.

The August 2026 session is part of an ongoing monthly series, and while it offers meaningful communal support, it is important to note that it is not a substitute for professional care. The group is not led by a licensed therapist or mental health professional; instead, it operates as a peer support circle where participants share and process their experiences together. Those interested must RSVP through the Sixth & I interest form, and completing the form does not guarantee placement in a group.

When: Tuesday, August 19, 2026, at 6:30 pm ET.

Venue: Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, referred to as Sixth & I.

Admission: Free, but RSVP is required.

Registration: Interested participants must fill out the Sixth & I interest form; submission does not guarantee that you will be matched with a group.
