Nina & Larry's Open Jam

Nina & Larry’s Open Jam returns to Hank Dietle’s Tavern for its sixth edition, inviting musicians of every experience level to take part in spontaneous, randomized ensemble performances. Participants can bring their instrument and use the venue’s provided backline, while audience members are welcome to dance, encourage the performers, and enjoy the tavern’s food and beverages.

Musicians sign up by placing their names in the bucket for their chosen role, such as guitar, keyboards, bass, or vocals. Names are drawn at random to create each group, with individual jams lasting approximately 10–12 minutes. The organizers will try to honor requests for particular songs or combinations of musicians when possible.

Tickets: Free admission; no cover charge

Format: Names are randomly drawn from instrument-specific buckets to form ensembles for open-jam performances.

Backline: Bass amplifier, drum set, guitar amplifier, microphones, and other equipment are provided. Participants should bring their own instrument.

Jam length: Approximately 10–12 minutes per group

Participants: Players of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join.

Requests: The organizers will make an effort to accommodate requests for specific musicians to play together or for particular songs.

For non-musicians: Guests who do not play an instrument can attend to dance, support the performers, and enjoy the tavern’s food and beverage selections.
