Fall Jazz Combo Concerts

Fall Jazz Combo Concerts presents two evenings of chamber jazz by UMD’s student jazz combos. The performances feature soulful, syncopated interpretations of classic jazz tunes, with different combos and varied repertoire on each night. Attending both performances offers a different musical experience each evening.

UMD’s jazz program includes more than 100 students. Its ensembles perform both on campus and at community events, festivals, schools, libraries, the National Archives, the National Building Museum, and other venues throughout the region. The premier UMD Jazz Ensemble also appears at the Calvin Jones Big Band Jazz Festival and has performed at the Maryland Music Educators Association’s annual conference.

When: Wednesday, November 18, 2026, and Thursday, November 19, 2026.

Showtimes: Both performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets: Free admission; tickets are not required.

Venue: Leah M. Smith Hall at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

Seating: General admission. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lineup: UMD jazz combos, with different combos performing each night.

Accessibility: Available services include wheelchair-accessible seating, size-inclusive seating, large-print programs, assisted-listening devices, sensory packs for adults and children, and quiet spaces. ASL interpretation, audio description, and captioning may be available for select events or by request at least six weeks in advance.
