Vidura Bandara Rajapaksa brings *Paradise Gothic* to the DC Improv for a smart, darkly comic hour about immigration, “radical” Buddhism, late-stage capitalism, corporate technology culture, and spiritual exhaustion. Using a deadpan style and postcolonial perspective, he examines the absurdity of trying to remain human in a world organized around numbers, productivity, and profit.

A Sri Lankan comedian, writer, and director, Rajapaksa has created the self-written and self-directed specials *Monsoon Season* (2022), *French Kiss Tunnel* (2024), and *Woodapple Jam* (2024). His understated, irreverent approach can also turn poignant, challenging familiar assumptions while keeping the performance sharply funny.
