## About the Event. El Ciclón features Ava, whose car is stranded amidst the swampy waters of South Florida, while a feminist pirate radio station reports of a looming hurricane about to hit the area. With music from acclaimed composer, librettist and TDPS faculty member Sam Crawford, El Ciclón is an embodied awakening out of the trance of patriarchal and colonial dominance & disconnection, and into our interconnected nature. The UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS) advances and transforms the research and practice of theatre, dance, and performance studies through a commitment to inclusive excellence and educational innovation in the performing arts. For this evening of new work, guitar-percussion duo The Living Earth Show joins forces with the UMD Wind Orchestra in composer Danny Clay’s Possible Paths to Play On , which features contributions from more than 100 community members.
