MARSHALL CRENSHAW with Sarah Borges & Eric Ambel

Marshall Crenshaw performs with Sarah Borges and Eric Ambel at the Birchmere. Crenshaw’s career began in Detroit and has included early work portraying John Lennon in “Beatlemania,” a New York rock band with his brother Robert, and breakthrough recordings connected to “Something’s Gonna Happen” and “Someday Someway.” His work has since encompassed four decades, 13 albums, Grammy and Golden Globe nominations, film and television appearances—including Buddy Holly in “La Bamba”—and thousands of concerts.

Crenshaw’s current touring band, formed in 2022, features multi-instrumentalist and producer Fernando Perdomo, bassist and singer-songwriter Derrick Anderson, and drummer Mark Ortmann, a founding member of the Bottle Rockets. The page describes the live show as a full-band performance centered on interplay, energy, and Crenshaw’s signature sound.
