Veiled Ladies
Veiled Ladies is an exhibition of thirty-one paintings by artist Dee Levinson, curated by Gaby Mizes and presented by Dupont Underground. The series takes its starting point from an eighteenth-century sculpture of a Vestal priestess at the National Gallery of Art, and uses that historical image as a lens for exploring identity, concealment, and the symbolism of the veil. Together, the paintings form an immersive installation that considers how women have been seen, obscured, protected, and revealed across history, while probing the tension between visibility and concealment, and between vulnerability and resilience. The exhibition runs from September 4 through October 4, 2026, and is shown alongside a concurrent exhibition, The Skin of Discomfort.
The exhibition opens with a free public reception on Friday, September 4, and then continues with regular gallery hours through early October. Admission is $5, with a single ticket granting entry to both Veiled Ladies and The Skin of Discomfort. Select works in the show are available for purchase.

Gallery Hours: Fridays from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM; Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The venue notes possible early closings for performances, including a 1:00 PM closing on September 12 and a 7:00 PM closing on September 18.
Tickets: $5 general admission. A single ticket grants entry to both Veiled Ladies and the concurrent exhibition The Skin of Discomfort. The opening reception is free.
