Fred Zafran's solo exhibition *Just Passing Through* presents fine art photography created during his winter 2024 journey to Japan. After traveling to Tokyo to visit an old friend, a change in plans turned the trip into a personal meditation on solitude and transience. Zafran photographed the small villages and snow‑covered landscape of rural Hokkaido, as well as the quiet, glass‑and‑steel corridors of Shiodome and the back alleys of Ginza. The resulting images are luminous, poetic fragments that capture the experience of a solitary traveler moving through an uncertain space between presence and departure. The exhibition is on view at Multiple Exposures Gallery, located in Studio 7 on the first floor of the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia.
