Jimi Hendrix Birthday Bash w/ The Eli Cook Band, On the Bus, Brassie

Celebrate Jimi Hendrix’s birthday and enduring musical influence with a night of tribute performances at Songbyrd Music House. The Eli Cook Band will perform Hendrix’s rock masterpieces, joined by On The Bus, a Grateful Dead tribute, and D.C.-based singer-songwriter Brassie, who will present Janis Joplin songs in her own style.

The evening connects Hendrix with two of his musical contemporaries and the broader roots of rock, blues, folk, jazz, funk, country, bluegrass, and gospel. Eli Cook brings a blues-and-roots background sharpened by hard-rock intensity, while his career has included work with artists such as B.B. King, John Mayall, Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Robin Trower, Taj Mahal, Gary Clark Jr., and Leslie West.
