Philip Bowen

Philip Bowen is an Appalachian-born singer-songwriter, fiddler, and multi-instrumentalist from West Virginia. His music draws on folk tradition, regional storytelling, lived experience, and contemporary Americana songwriting. Bowen began playing fiddle at age four and has developed a distinctive sound shaped by Appalachian textures.

His career includes a win in TikTok’s Greatest Talent competition, performances at venues and events such as the Bluebird Cafe, 3rd and Lindsley, NPR’s Mountain Stage, AmericanaFest, and Folk Alliance International, and a semifinal appearance on *America’s Got Talent*. His debut album, *Old Kanawha*, arrived in 2023. He has also performed or toured with Darius Rucker, 49 Winchester, Wyatt Flores, Ian Munsick, Charles Wesley Godwin, and Josiah and the Bonnevilles.

Bowen is an active session musician with hundreds of recording credits, including fiddle and instrumental contributions to work by Noah Kahan, Sam Barber, Zandi Holup, and Jenna Paulette. His 2025 sophomore album, *Appalachia Forever*, features collaborations with Charles Wesley Godwin, Madison Hughes, Josiah and the Bonnevilles, Leon Majcen, and Julia DiGrazia. Emily Woodhull is also part of the evening’s lineup.
