Philip Bowen
Philip Bowen is an Appalachian-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music combines traditional Appalachian influences, regional storytelling, and modern Americana. Raised in West Virginia, he began playing fiddle at age four and has developed a distinctive roots-oriented sound.
Bowen has attracted more than 1.5 million followers across online platforms, won TikTok’s Greatest Talent competition, and appeared at venues and events including the Bluebird Cafe, 3rd and Lindsley, NPR’s Mountain Stage, AmericanaFest, and Folk Alliance International. His debut album, *Old Kanawha*, helped establish his profile in 2023, alongside a semifinal appearance on *America’s Got Talent*. He has performed with Darius Rucker, 49 Winchester, Wyatt Flores, Ian Munsick, Charles Wesley Godwin, and Josiah and the Bonnevilles.
In addition to his solo work, Bowen is an accomplished session musician with hundreds of recording credits. He has contributed fiddle and other instrumentation to recordings by Noah Kahan, Sam Barber, Zandi Holup, and Jenna Paulette. His work has received attention from *Rolling Stone*, *American Songwriter*, Whiskey Riff, and Ross Golan’s *And the Demo Is*.
Bowen’s 2025 sophomore album, *Appalachia Forever*, features collaborations with Charles Wesley Godwin, Madison Hughes, Josiah and the Bonnevilles, Leon Majcen, and Julia DiGrazia. The album was followed by his first headlining tour, beginning in August, as well as support dates with Dwight Yoakam, Kashus Culpepper, Sam Burchfield, and Whiskey Myers.
