Kemuel Roig - Solo Piano - Recording Release - Cuban Jazz Series

Pianist and composer Kemuel Roig presents a solo piano recording release concert as part of the Cuban Jazz Series at Blues Alley. His program, titled *Both Sides Now*, is an intimate evening of reimagined songs by Joni Mitchell, Paul McCartney, Armando Manzanero, Michel Legrand, Billie Holiday, and others, performed with improvisation and deeply personal expression. Roig also includes original compositions and works by celebrated Cuban composers such as Abelardo Valdés, Marcelino Guerra, and Gonzalo Roig. The performance weaves together his classical training, Afro-Cuban heritage, and modern jazz vocabulary, creating an immersive experience that ranges from explosive rhythmic energy to lyrical intimacy. A DownBeat Student Music Award recipient, Roig has been praised by Chucho Valdés as “the Superman of the piano” and has performed with Arturo Sandoval, Al Di Meola, Randy Brecker, and others.
