XXII Fuego Flamenco Festival: Entre dos sombras

Fri, Nov 13, 2026 – Sun, Nov 15, 2026at 8:00 PM
3333 14th Street Northwest, Washington, DC
$25-$50
Featuring: Edwin Aparicio

The world premiere of Entre dos sombras is a flamenco work directed by and starring Edwin Aparicio. The production explores the fleeting space “between two darknesses,” drawing on flamenco’s ability to hold grief and ecstasy, life and death, in close tension. Its emotional journey moves through intensity, hope, love, and the wonder of being alive.

The performance also honors three artists lost by Washington’s creative community: Ana Martínez and Paco de Málaga, a married couple and influential figures in the local flamenco scene, and Salvadoran-born photographer Muriel Hasbun, whose work concerning memory and impermanence resonates with the production’s themes.
