Member Preview Days: Avery, Gottlieb & Rothko

Member Preview Days offer Phillips Collection members an early look at *Avery, Gottlieb & Rothko: By the Sea*, an exhibition exploring the enduring friendship among American artists Milton Avery, Adolph Gottlieb, and Mark Rothko. The exhibition considers the inspiration they drew from summers in Gloucester, Massachusetts, on Cape Ann, and from other places.

Members can attend exclusive preview hours before the exhibition opens to the public. Phillips educators will lead Spotlight Tours each day, offering additional insight into the exhibition on the third floor.

When: Thursday, October 22, and Friday, October 23, 2026

Showtimes: 10 am–5 pm both days

Spotlight Tours: Noon, 2 pm, and 3 pm each day

Tickets: Free

Eligibility: Members-only event. Admission allows one or two people depending on the member’s membership level. Guest passes are accepted.

Reservations: No reservations are required.

Admission Note: Members must present their membership card. Invitations are non-transferable.
