Cipha Sounds
Cipha Sounds brings his sharp, high-energy comedy to DC Improv. The New York comedian is a longtime performer, DJ, radio personality, and television figure whose career began as the official DJ for “Chappelle’s Show” and later expanded into stand-up, improv, podcasting, and touring with major comedians including Dave Chappelle, Bert Kreischer, Michael Che, Michelle Wolf, Mo Amer, and Ronny Chieng.
His credits include Comedy Central, Netflix, TruTV, MTV, A&E, “Wild ’N Out,” “Laff Mobb Laff Tracks,” “That Damn Michael Che,” and A&E’s “Hip Hop Treasures,” which he hosted with LL Cool J. He also created the UCB hip-hop improv show “Take It Personal,” has appeared at SXSW, the New York Comedy Festival, and Just for Laughs, and performs regularly at New York’s Comedy Cellar and clubs nationwide. The evening’s additional comic or comics have not yet been announced.

Background: Cipha studied improv at the original Upright Citizens Brigade while developing his stand-up career in New York. He went from DJing SNL after-parties and working on “Chappelle’s Show” to touring internationally, appearing in Michael Che’s Netflix special, and participating in “That Damn Michael Che.” He was also part of Bert Kreischer’s Fully Loaded Festival Tour beginning in 2023.
