SustainbleNOW
SustainbleNOW is an afternoon of creative reuse, sustainability, and community at the University of Maryland. The event combines a clothing swap and thrift market with hands-on upcycling workshops, giving attendees opportunities to exchange clean, gently used clothing and accessories, find new-to-them items, and transform leftover garments and fabric into something original.
Workshops will introduce practical clothing-repair and embellishment skills, including beginner hand stitching, patchwork, attaching zippers and buttons, fabric painting, dyeing, and other decorative techniques. A vendor market will feature local vintage sellers, sustainable businesses, artists, and makers offering fashion, accessories, plants, and more. The event is part of NextNOW Fest, The Clarice’s annual, public-facing University of Maryland arts festival focused on inventive artists, creativity, and community.
