NSO—Triumph: Noseda Conducts Prokofiev

The National Symphony Orchestra presents a program led by conductor Gianandrea Noseda that moves from Stravinsky’s sparkling wit and Haydn’s spirited elegance to Prokofiev’s wartime symphonic vision. Prokofiev’s monumental Fifth Symphony forms the centerpiece, tracing a journey through tension, struggle, humanity, and hard-won optimism toward a triumphant conclusion.

The program opens with Stravinsky’s *Scènes de Ballet*, followed by Haydn’s Symphony No. 85, “La Reine,” a work admired by the French court. Written during World War II, Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 brings the concert to its victorious culmination.
