Brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot, BWV 39

The Washington Bach Consort’s Noontime Cantata Series presents Johann Sebastian Bach’s sacred cantata *Brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot*, BWV 39. Each performance begins with an organ prelude featuring works by Dieterich Buxtehude, followed by Bach’s cantata.

The October 12 performance is part of the Capitol Cantata Series, while the October 13 performance is part of the Downtown Cantata Series. The program features soprano Sara MacKimmie, alto P. Lucy McVeigh, bass Gilbert Spencer, and organist Paula Maust.
