Guachinangos w/ Chicha Morada

Guachinangos and Chicha Morada bring an evening of Latin folk fusion to Songbyrd Music House. Guachinangos blends son jarocho, cumbia, champeta, and other Latin American rhythms with traditional and electric instrumentation, creating a lively mix of dance party and community gathering. The collective is also rooted in educational music and dance programs designed to build intercultural and intergenerational connections.

Washington, DC–based Chicha Morada joins the bill with its psychedelic take on Peruvian chicha, incorporating traditional cumbia rhythms and elements of salsa. The band has performed throughout the DC area and recently returned from a sold-out New York City show.
