Exhibit: Zottoh - untitled

A sound installation by Santiago Soto (Zottoh) centers a guitar suspended within a metal frame and held by tensioned steel cables. Transducers fed by the guitar’s own signal and external sources vibrate the entire structure, turning both frame and instrument into resonant bodies. The guitar’s pickups capture the resulting sound, which is reintroduced through speakers and transducers, creating a continuous loop of airborne and structural feedback. Conceived as a self-portrait, the piece represents not the artist’s appearance but his condition—the suspended guitar becomes a surrogate body held together by the same forces that strain to pull it apart. An opening reception on August 1 features live music by Zottoh and cannibal boom. During the exhibition period, visitors can interact with a simplified interface that excites the structure directly, without amplification.
