DEERHOOF

Deerhoof brings its volatile mix of noise, punk intensity, avant-pop, and art-rock experimentation to the Black Cat. Led by Satomi Matsuzaki, the band has spent more than two decades developing a catalog of over 20 acclaimed albums, moving between surreal pop and urgent, jagged art-punk. Their performance is expected to combine distorted twin-guitar riffs, explosive drumming, abrupt tempo changes, playful melodies, and tightly controlled rhythms.

The bill also features That This and Jacky Cougar & the Vampyres from Africa. Deerhoof’s live shows are known for their loud, chaotic, joyful, and highly precise energy.
