Maggie Koerner “Upstate Tour”
Maggie Koerner brings her “Upstate Tour” to Songbyrd Music House in support of her latest album, *UPSTATE*. Co-produced by Koerner and Ajai in New Orleans, the 12-track album showcases her work as a singer, songwriter, and performer.
Koerner first attracted attention after earning a psychology degree when Brady Blade produced her debut album, *Quarter Life*, in 2011. After moving to New Orleans on David Shaw’s advice, she wrote and self-produced *Neutral Ground* in 2013. She later became the front woman of Galactic, performing internationally and touring with artists including Widespread Panic, Charles Bradley, and Dr. John. Her vocals and songwriting appear on Galactic’s *Carnivale Electricos* and *Into the Deep*.
After leaving Galactic in 2015, Koerner continued with festival appearances and tours alongside The Revivalists, Band of Horses, Marcus King, The Head & The Heart, Shakey Graves, Tank and the Bangas, Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule, and others. Her collaborations have included the 2016 EP *Dig Down Deep*, made with UK singer-songwriter and producer Fink, as well as co-writing two songs with Jessica Simpson. Koerner’s other work includes the independently released 2022 album *The Bartholomew Songs*, the single “If I Die,” which appeared on *Grey’s Anatomy*, and a starring role in the independent film *Heart Strings*.
