Circle Jerks
Circle Jerks bring their influential Los Angeles hardcore punk sound to 9:30 Club with Haywire and Negative Approach. Formed in the South Bay in 1979, Circle Jerks grew out of the early California punk scene, pairing relentless, tightly played music with sharp and often irreverent lyrics.
The band was founded by Keith Morris, a co-founder and lead vocalist of Black Flag, and former Redd Kross guitarist Greg Hetson, alongside bassist Roger Rogerson and drummer Lucky Lehrer. Their history includes appearances in punk and cult-film landmarks such as *The Decline of Western Civilization*, *Repo Man*, *New Wave Theatre*, and *The Slog Movie*. Circle Jerks have released six studio albums, including *Group Sex* (1980), *Wild in the Streets* (1982), *Golden Shower of Hits* (1983), *Wonderful* (1985), and *IV* (1987). The current lineup includes longtime bassist Zander Schloss and drummer Joey Castillo, whose past credits include The Bronx, Queens of the Stone Age, Danzig, BL’AST!, and Wasted Youth.
