Pete and Maura Kennedy bring their “Smoketree” album release tour to Hank Dietle’s Tavern for the duo’s debut appearance at the venue. This seated folk-rock concert is dedicated to their longtime friend Robbie White, a devoted supporter of homegrown Washington, D.C., music who is facing serious health issues.

The Kennedys’ music combines strong hooks, close harmonies, and an uplifting spirit. Their extensive career includes more than two dozen albums, years performing with Nanci Griffith’s Blue Moon Orchestra, and touring throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe. The new “Smoketree” material features original songs addressing environmental concerns, social upheaval, and the pursuit of peace, with the evening also promising stories and songs from the duo’s years as touring musicians.
