Daði Freyr

Tue, Oct 6, 2026at 8:00 PM
1215 U Street Northwest, Washington, DC
Price not available
Featuring: Daði Freyr, Bríet

Daði Freyr brings his playful, thoughtful synth-pop to Lincoln Theatre for a live show centered on infectious melodies, witty lyrics, warmth, and self-acceptance. The performance features music from his forthcoming album, *Too Much, Not Enough*, alongside the offbeat humor and candid emotional perspective that define his work. Bríet opens the evening.

Daði first gained international attention with “Think About Things,” his 2020 breakout song inspired by the birth of his daughter. The track surpassed 100 million streams and helped transform him from an Icelandic favorite into a global artist after Eurovision 2020 was canceled. His 2023 album, *I Made an Album*, was written, recorded, and produced independently in his Berlin studio, combining danceable production with introspective lyrics and a DIY sensibility.

For *Too Much, Not Enough*, Daði invited collaborators into his creative process for the first time, producing music that the page describes as more focused, layered, mature, and emotionally direct. The album explores the tension between wanting to do everything and wanting a quieter life, with self-acceptance at its center. He moved from Berlin back to Iceland with his family in 2025, a change that has brought renewed stillness and creative energy to his work.

On his October 2026 U.S. and Canadian tour, Daði performs alone, using instruments he built himself and visuals created entirely by hand. The stripped-back presentation is designed to feel intimate and spontaneous while preserving the communal, audience-connected spirit of his concerts.
