2026 Summer Organ Recital Series: Adam Chlebek

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., presents organist Adam Chlebek as the featured performer in the ninth and final installment of the 2026 Summer Organ Recital Series. Adam Chlebek is a Polish-American organist originally from Chicago, Illinois. He holds a Master of Music in Organ Performance from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Nathan Laube, and a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Jonathan Moyer. His competition honors include second prize at the 2022 Taylor Organ Competition and finalist status at the 2024 Elizabeth Stephens International Organ Competition. He has performed throughout the United States and Poland and has taken part in masterclasses with Janette Fishell, William Porter, and Arvid Gast. Before joining the Basilica staff, Chlebek served as the Basilica’s first Sacred Music Intern in 2022 and worked as Director of Music at St. Thomas More Parish in Rochester, New York, and St. James Parish in Lakewood, Ohio. He also sang with the Christ Church Schola Cantorum under Stephen Kennedy. Beyond organ work, Chlebek has choral and conducting experience from Oberlin, including singing with the Oberlin Musical Union and Collegium Musicum, and he performed as a jazz pianist in Oberlin’s Performance and Improvisation Ensemble with artists such as Jamey Haddad, Jay Ashby, and Becca Stevens.
