Hike and Sunprinting at Lake Artemesia
Hike and Sunprinting at Lake Artemesia is an outdoor afternoon hosted by the LGBTQ+ Equity Center. Participants will meet at the center, walk along the Paint Branch Trail to Lake Artemesia, and enjoy a picnic, a sun-printing workshop, and other outdoor activities.
The hike covers approximately 5–6 miles and may include uneven terrain. The event is part of NextNOW Fest, the University of Maryland’s multi-day arts festival featuring performances and other experiences by artists from around the country and the UMD campus. The festival is open to the general public.

Venue: Meet at the LGBTQ+ Equity Center, Marie Mount Hall, 2411 Marie Mount Hall, before walking to Lake Artemesia.
Activities: Guided walk along Paint Branch Trail, picnic at Lake Artemesia, sun-printing workshop, and additional outdoor activities.
Distance: Approximately 5–6 miles, including potentially uneven terrain.

Weather note: If it rains, the event will be rescheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026.
