Sound of the Shamisen
Sound of the Shamisen is a live concert presenting the traditional Japanese shamisen alongside classical guitar and shinobue, a traditional Japanese flute. Award-winning musicians KANEKO Sumie, TANAKADATE Fumi, and ODAMURA Shu will perform a program combining traditional and contemporary works.
The concert explores the relationship between Japanese and Western classical music across different periods, including pieces that incorporate modern jazz influences. The Japan Information & Culture Center invites audiences to experience this cross-cultural program at the Embassy of Japan.
