Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Music Director Laureate Marin Alsop leads a concert pairing a world premiere with two beloved twentieth-century works. The evening opens with a new orchestral piece by Lera Auerbach, co-commissioned by the BSO and The Clarice, and continues with Bernstein's Serenade, featuring violinist Ning Feng as soloist. The program closes with Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5, a work the composer described as a symphony on the greatness of the human soul.
