An evening with Andrew McMahon and his piano
Andrew McMahon brings an intimate, piano-centered evening to 9:30 Club, drawing from his work with Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin, and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. The performance follows his career-spanning Three Pianos presentation at Red Rocks and explores the personal history, resilience, and songwriting behind his music. Ivory Layne is also listed on the event page.
McMahon began performing and writing songs as a child and co-founded Something Corporate in 1998 while still in high school. As the band’s singer, pianist, and songwriter, he helped lead albums including *Leaving Through the Window* and *North* to major chart success. He later formed Jack’s Mannequin, releasing *Everything in Transit*, *The Glass Passenger*, and *People and Things*, before launching Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness in 2014. That project produced the Alternative radio hit “Cecilia and the Satellite,” followed by albums including *Zombies on Broadway*, *Upside Down Flowers*, and *Tilt At The Wind No More*.
Across these projects, McMahon has sold nearly 2.5 million albums and accumulated more than 1.3 billion streams. He has appeared at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Austin City Limits, and toured with Weezer, Panic! At The Disco, Gavin DeGraw, Dashboard Confessional, and Billy Joel. His credits also include an Emmy nomination for work on NBC’s *Smash*, the curated *Andrew McMahon’s Holiday From Real* cruise, the documentary *Dear Jack*, and the memoir *Three Pianos*.
The event’s charitable component reflects McMahon’s experience surviving leukemia at age 22. One dollar from every ticket supports the Dear Jack Foundation, which provides programs for adolescents and young adults living with cancer and supports them and their families through treatment and survivorship.
