TRAVERSING THE SILENCE
TRAVERSING THE SILENCE is an exhibition by Micheline Klagsbrun, curated by Aneta Georgievska-Shine. The work explores transformation and passage through imagery of bridges, fences, and precarious paths. Klagsbrun presents rope bridges as symbols of deliberate movement along uncertain, potentially dangerous routes, whether the journey involves moving to a new home or country or undergoing an internal change.
The exhibition includes paintings, sculptures, and works on paper. Some works depict fanciful, nearly abstract rope bridges, while others draw on the artist’s memories of deteriorating corral fences near her Colorado mountain home. Although bridges typically connect and fences divide, Klagsbrun treats both as related forms of passage and discovery, with each step or link dependent on what came before. A 16-foot rope-bridge sculpture titled *Pathway of Reflection* is not included because it remains on view at the 2026 Venice Biennale through November 28, 2026.
