Featuring: Naomi Klein, Astra Taylor, Wajahat Ali

Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor discuss *End Times Fascism: And the Fight for the Living World* with Wajahat Ali. Their conversation examines the apocalyptic beliefs shaping contemporary Christian nationalism, Silicon Valley reactionary culture, and populist survivalism, including messianic prophecy, fears about artificial intelligence, and claims of immigration-driven cultural replacement.

Klein and Taylor argue that these movements share a desire for cleansing catastrophe and a conviction that their supporters will emerge protected or “saved.” Drawing on reporting and analysis, they explore how powerful actors help make the world unlivable before retreating to private islands, Mars, or fortified national bunkers. The discussion also considers the contradictions within this alliance and the possibility of a life-affirming, environmentally grounded politics built around protecting shared existence.
