The Emperor's New Clothes

The Emperor’s New Clothes is a humorous, Spanish-infused Learning Theater production about a vain ruler whose fixation on extravagant clothing threatens to bankrupt his kingdom. When two rogues posing as weavers promise him a magnificent wardrobe that can supposedly be seen only by the competent and intelligent, the Emperor and his court pretend to admire the nonexistent garments rather than risk appearing foolish. An innocent child ultimately breaks through the deception by speaking the truth.

The production explores the courage required to resist peer pressure and refuse to follow the crowd when everyone else is pretending to believe a lie.
