The Emperor's New Clothes
The Emperor’s New Clothes is a humorous, Spanish-infused Learning Theater production about vanity, deception, and the courage to speak honestly. A self-absorbed emperor puts his kingdom’s finances at risk in pursuit of extravagant clothing. When two rogues posing as weavers promise him a magnificent wardrobe that supposedly cannot be seen by anyone incompetent or foolish, the emperor and his court pretend to admire the nonexistent garments rather than admit they see nothing.
The deception continues until an innocent child states what everyone else is afraid to acknowledge. Through this classic tale, the production explores the pressure to follow the crowd and the importance of finding the courage to tell the truth.
