QLSA & The Washington DC Chapter of the FAMU NAA, presents the Black Athlete Town Hall

Tue, Sep 15, 2026at 7:00 PM
620 T Street Northwest, Washington, DC

QLSA and the Washington DC chapter of the FAMU National Alumni Association present the Black Athlete Town Hall, a national convening focused on the future of Black athlete leadership. The event is a panel-centered town hall exploring how today’s Black athletes can use their platforms and influence to create lasting institutions and generational impact, rather than focusing only on personal financial success. Timed to align with Congressional Black Caucus Week, the evening deliberately connects athletic leadership to broader political and civic conversations in the nation’s capital.

The program includes a national convening on the business of Black athletic influence, with discussion covering ownership, name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities, and investment strategies. A Q&A segment follows the panel, allowing the audience to engage directly with the discussion. The evening also includes a recognition moment honoring Florida A&M University alumna and former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
