Victor Vieira-Branco's Bark Culture / We All Witness (Bormet-Butler-Hughes-Paluch)

Victor Vieira-Branco's Bark Culture and the avant-garde collective We All Witness share a double bill at Rhizome DC on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Bark Culture’s second album, *The Giant Is Awkward*, features pianist and composer Sam Yulsman and is available via their Bandcamp page. Following Bark Culture, We All Witness — formed at the 2026 Washington Women in Jazz Festival — brings together keyboardist Amy K. Bormet, alto saxophonist/flutist Sarah Marie Hughes, synthesizer player Christine Paluch, and drummer/percussionist Keith Butler Jr. The collective explores the intersection of horror music and jazz, crafting atmospheric, cinematic pieces that blend acoustic and electronic textures, tension, and spontaneous improvisation. The performance promises to dismantle genre boundaries and create a compelling narrative arc through sound.
