JAMAL ROBERTS

Jamal Roberts, the breakout soul artist who won Season 23 of *American Idol*, brings his gospel- and R&B-influenced sound to Birchmere. His music centers on soulful vocals, personal storytelling, and an uplifting message of resilience.

Born in Meridian, Mississippi, Roberts became *American Idol*’s winner after receiving a record-setting 26 million votes. His debut single, “Heal,” reimagines a Tom Odell ballad with gospel and R&B elements. The song reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs and Gospel Digital Song Sales charts, placed in the top 10 on the Gospel Streaming Songs chart, and appeared on Apple Music’s “New Music Daily” and Spotify’s “Fresh Gospel” playlists. Roberts’ performances have drawn millions of YouTube views, including his fan-favorite rendition of “Heal” during the show’s Top 12 round. He is also scheduled to join Brandy and Monica on their *The Boy Is Mine* tour this fall.
