Brandon Wayne & His Lonesome Drifters

Brandon Wayne & His Lonesome Drifters bring a lively, dance-oriented blend of 1940s and ’50s classic country, hillbilly, western swing, electric bluegrass, surf instrumentals, rockabilly, and Brandon Wayne’s original songs to Hank Dietle’s Tavern. Wayne is known for his distinctive nasal hillbilly vocal style, while the band draws on Central Virginia’s deep country, bluegrass, and hillbilly traditions.

The group developed its sound through its monthly Charlottesville cable-access program, *The Blue Ridge Barn Dance*, and has become a regular act at Northside Grille, Death Ridge Brewery, and Chisholm Vineyards. In 2025, the Lonesome Drifters also performed at Canada’s Red, Hot and Blue Rockabilly Weekender and Spain’s Rockin’ Race Jamboree.

A free social partner-dance lesson with Ben Pagac takes place before the concert. The lesson is intended for beginners and is designed to help attendees feel comfortable dancing in a social setting. No partner or previous experience is required.
