Wolf's Every Monday Blues Show & Sit-In Jam

Wolf’s Every Monday Blues Show & Sit-In Jam is a long-running blues night at Hank Dietle’s Tavern, bringing established DC-area players together with emerging musicians. The evening features surprise guests and spontaneous sit-ins, continuing a tradition that has included appearances by Guitar Shorty, Bill Kirchen, Eugene Hideaway Bridges, Jimmy Carpenter, Memphis Gold, Bruce Ewan, Bobby Radcliff, Pierre Beauregard, Johnny Sansone, Johnny Vidacovich, and Grammy nominees Tab Benoit and Steve Riley.

The night opens with a set from a rotating host band of regional blues musicians before the jam session gets underway. The featured players include guitarists and vocalists Linwood Taylor and Matt Kelley, guitarist Mike Westcott, guitarist and vocalist Guy Bouchie, drummer Andy Hamburger, and bassist Wolf Crescenze, with additional special guests appearing from time to time.

Opening set: The evening begins with the rotating host band, followed by the blues sit-in jam.

Lineup: Linwood Taylor, guitar and vocals; Matt Kelley, guitar and vocals; Mike Westcott, guitar; Guy Bouchie, guitar and vocals; Andy Hamburger, drums; and Wolf Crescenze, bass. Occasional special guests may also join.

Background: Taylor is an international touring artist; Kelley is an Albert King Award winner; Westcott is a multi-award-winning musician and four-time International Blues Challenge finalist.
