We Sing America: Planet Word Celebrates the 4th of July is a free, all-ages community sing-along that takes place on Independence Day at Franklin Park, hosted by Planet Word Museum. The afternoon features Washington, D.C.’s own Nolan Williams Jr., an award-winning composer, producer, and performer, who leads the crowd with a live band and his NEWorks Voices of America. Emceed by Esther Ciammachilli, host of WAMU’s *Morning Edition*, the event journeys through beloved folk songs, American classics, and Civil Rights anthems, exploring the music that tells America’s story. Attendees are invited to pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and lift their voices in celebration. WAMU is the official media sponsor.

When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Venue: Franklin Park (hosted by Planet Word Museum, located nearby at 925 13th Street NW, Washington, D.C.).

Price: Free.

Lineup: Nolan Williams Jr. (lead performer and music director), Esther Ciammachilli (emcee), NEWorks Voices of America (choir), live band.
