Contra Dance with Cécilia

Contra Dance with Cécilia brings a Sunday evening of traditional Celtic and Québécois music to Glen Echo Park’s Spanish Ballroom. The ensemble features Timi Turmel, Erin Leahy, and Louis Schryer on accordion, piano, and violin, with Chloe Levine serving as the evening’s caller. Their lively arrangements combine traditional material with contemporary, classical, jazz, and swing influences.

The dance is designed as a shared, high-energy experience, pairing instruction and social dancing with Cécilia’s vibrant melodies and rhythms. The group’s debut album, *Accent*, reflects the warmth and expressive richness of their sound.
