Maryland Youth Ballet
Maryland Youth Ballet brings the classic fairy tale *Sleeping Beauty* to the Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts for a three‑day run at the end of July and beginning of August 2026. This enchanting ballet, performed by a company that has been teaching dance for more than sixty years, is designed as an ideal introduction to ballet for young children, blending the timeless story of a princess, a spindle, fairy magic, and the power of love. The performance is a Wolf Trap fan favorite and promises to delight audiences of all ages.
When: The performances take place on Friday, July 31; Saturday, August 1; and Sunday, August 2, 2026. Gates open at 10:00 AM each day.
Showtimes: All performances begin at 10:30 AM.
Tickets: Individual tickets are $14 each (including fees). Children under 2 years old are admitted free of charge. Groups of 10 or more save $2 off every ticket; inquire about group discounts.
Lineup: The production is presented by Maryland Youth Ballet, a long‑established dance institution with over six decades of experience training dancers.
Ages: The performance is suggested for children ages 2 to 12.
Venue: Children’s Theatre‑in‑the‑Woods, located at 1551 Trap Road, Vienna, VA 22182, within Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.
Accessibility: Accessible parking is available—ask the park rangers for ADA parking upon arrival. Seating: Seating is general admission on wooden benches, first come, first served. Guests are encouraged to bring a towel to dry their seat after rainy weather.
Parking: Free parking is provided; park rangers will direct vehicles to the appropriate lots. From the parking area, a short scenic walk of less than half a mile leads to the theater, descending a hill, crossing a bridge, and following a wooded trail. A stroller is recommended for this walk.
Note: Food and beverages (other than water) are not permitted in the seated area. After the show, families are welcome to enjoy a picnic in the Meadow. Additionally, guests can join a Park Ranger for an outdoor adventure after the performance to earn a Junior Ranger Badge, and children can play with free games, toys, and activities in the Meadow.
