Lemon Etch Litho
Lemon Etch Litho is a two-day, hands-on workshop introducing the fundamentals of lithography through an accessible process using aluminum foil, gum Arabic, and lemon juice. Participants will create small, tonal lithographs with everyday materials, printing either by hand or with a press, and will take images from preparation through processing and printing on thin Asian-style papers.
The first day covers the complete process step by step, including materials, setup, processing, printing, and cleanup. The second day provides more independent time to practice the technique. The workshop is designed for both beginners and experienced printmakers, with the goal of helping students make lithographs in a wide range of settings.
