Featuring: The Alternate Routes, Pete Muller, The Kindred Souls

The Alternate Routes and Pete Muller & The Kindred Souls share a genre-spanning live bill blending roots, rock, soul, and pop. The evening features The Alternate Routes, followed by or alongside pianist and songwriter Pete Muller with his backing band, The Kindred Souls.

The Alternate Routes broke through in 2005 with *Good and Reckless and True* and have since released music through Vanguard Records and independently, toured extensively, and collaborated with artists including Patti Griffin and Carl Broemel of My Morning Jacket. Their song “Nothing More” gained prominent exposure through the 2014 Winter Olympics and *NCIS*. Their later song “Somewhere in America,” addressing gun violence, won a 2016 Independent Music Award and led to an invitation to the White House. The band has also appeared on *The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson*, *Late Night with Conan O’Brien*, and NPR’s *Mountain Stage*.

Pete Muller is a critically acclaimed songwriter and pianist whose dynamic performances draw from roots, rock, soul, and pop. His album *One Last Dance* was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios and includes collaborations with Grammy Award winner Allison Russell and SistaStrings. Muller’s festival appearances include Telluride and Montreux, and he has performed with Jimmy Webb, Lisa Loeb, Livingston Taylor, and others.
