The Gould Standard

The Gould Standard brings an intimate, expressive take on indie folk to Hank Dietle’s Tavern. Rob Gould, Ken Glasser, and George Thayer combine thoughtful songwriting and warm vocal harmonies with guitar, piano, dobro, lap steel, congas, percussion, and harp. The set features Gould’s original songs alongside carefully selected covers that suit the trio’s acoustic, harmony-rich style.

Gould has written and performed for more than 20 years, releasing two full-length albums and several singles, with enough newer material in progress for another album. His song “Army of Devils” won the 2023 Grand Prize for Best Song of the Year in the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest, while his album *Because of You* was a WAMMIE finalist. Other songs have also received recognition in regional songwriting competitions.
