Dancin’ in the Streets: A Simchat Torah Celebration

Dancin’ in the Streets celebrates Simchat Torah, the Jewish holiday of “Rejoicing in Torah,” when the community begins the Torah-reading cycle again with the opening passages of Genesis. The evening combines live music, dancing, themed cocktails and mocktails, and a service on I Street.

Guests can arrive early for a text-study class with Rabbi Jenna about the creation story and finding meaning and joy amid chaos, or attend the happy hour before the service and dancing.

Showtimes: Class with Rabbi Jenna at 6:00 p.m.; happy hour at 6:30 p.m.; service and dancing at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets: General admission is $24, with a $6 increase at the door. The class costs $5. Additional fees apply to online purchases.

Class: “Make it Make Sense” is a text study led by Rabbi Jenna. It explores the opening lines of the Torah and the creation story, focusing on the idea of creating order from chaos and considering how to build meaningful, joyful experiences in a chaotic world.

Ages: Attendees must be 21 or older and must present identification.

Accessibility: No one will be turned away from the program because of an inability to pay.
