Miriamm - "For Christmas: A Songbird's Serenade"
Miriamm presents “For Christmas: A Songbird’s Serenade,” an R&B holiday performance built around Christmas standards associated with Minnie Riperton, Aretha Franklin, and other celebrated singers. A highly sought-after performer with international touring experience, Miriamm has worked with major music-industry figures and most recently toured as Peaches of the classic duo Peaches & Herb.
The program also draws on Miriamm’s personal and artistic history. She toured Europe in George Faison’s Tony Award-winning production “Sing Mahalia Sing” and recorded “Miriamm…Live! @ Blues Alley” as a breast-cancer-awareness project. The album is described as a tribute to her mother, Edith P. Wright, and to Minnie Riperton, both of whom died of breast cancer in their 30s.
