Ronny Smith - Recording Release - Emerging Artist Mondays

Ronny Smith celebrates the release of *Velvet Vibe*, his latest album of contemporary jazz. The guitarist and composer will perform the recording’s ten original compositions, combining contemporary jazz with soulful grooves, memorable melodies, and his warm, expressive guitar sound, along with several of his established favorites. Smith will be joined by his band for an evening focused on melodic, groove-driven instrumental music.

Smith’s style draws on jazz, soul, funk, blues, gospel, and Brazilian music, with influences including Wes Montgomery and George Benson. His earlier releases include *Got Groove* and *Just Groovin’*, while his 2013 song “City Groove” reached the top of Billboard’s BDS New & Active Smooth Jazz Chart. His subsequent work has earned additional chart recognition, including the 2021 single “String of Hearts” and material from the 2024 album *Struttin’*. *Velvet Vibe*, released through Pacific Coast Jazz, continues his blend of sophisticated musicianship, infectious rhythms, and melodic storytelling.
