Make+Take: Screenprinted Coasters
Make+Take: Screenprinted Coasters is a beginner-friendly introduction to screenprinting centered on creating a set of seasonal paper coasters. Participants will use prepared screens featuring a variety of fall-inspired designs, mix colorful inks, and print their own coasters in a relaxed workshop setting. No previous experience is required, and the session is designed as a short way to try screenprinting before committing to a full-length workshop.
The workshop is led by Maryland-based visual artist and screen printer Jeanette M. Bolden. Her practice explores how emotions and fleeting moments can be expressed through color, shape, and the repetition inherent in screenprinting. Bolden has exhibited with Ennis R. Hodgson, taught in M-NCPPC arts programs, participated in Transformer Gallery’s Exercises for Emerging Artists, and previously interned and co-taught at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center. Her honors include The Washington Print Club’s 2021 Young Printer Award, and her work was featured in the fall 2021 issue of *On Paper: Journal of The Washington Print Club*.
