Las Catrinas Creative Workshop: Build & Exhibit
Las Catrinas Creative Workshop: Build & Exhibit is a four-session, hands-on art workshop for artists of all skill levels. With guidance from Ana and Sol, participants will use paper, paste, and paint to create a personalized Catrina sculpture approximately four feet tall.
The experience continues beyond the studio. Participants may exhibit their finished sculptures with the Riverworks group at the “Día de Muertos” event at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, on October 31, followed by a community exhibition at Locals Farm Market on November 7 featuring Mexican-inspired music.

Showtimes: Workshop sessions take place October 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The October 31 Día de Muertos exhibition runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the November 7 community exhibition runs from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Description: Over four guided studio sessions, participants will build and decorate an individual four-foot Catrina sculpture using paper, paste, and paint. The workshop is designed as a creative process for artists at any skill level, culminating in opportunities to display the completed work in community exhibitions.

Exhibitions: Finished Catrinas may be shown with the Riverworks group at the October 31 “Día de Muertos” event at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. A second exhibition is scheduled for November 7 at Locals Farm Market, where participants can present their work and celebrate with Mexican-inspired music.
Run time: Each of the four workshop sessions lasts three hours. The October 31 exhibition lasts six hours, and the November 7 exhibition lasts two hours.
